New England Book Artists

Welcome to NEBA! As an organization of book makers, academics, writers, binders, collectors, librarians, historians, conservators, book sellers, and more, we support, learn from, and teach one another, as well as collaborate with others on a variety of interesting projects. We meet once a month at a different book arts location and have monthly field trips. Our activities take place primarily – but not exclusively – in the Metro Boston area.

Mission Statement

New England Book Artists, NEBA is a professional organization of book artists and bibliophiles. It celebrates, promotes, and supports the book arts and its makers, fosters public education, and nurtures an understanding and enjoyment of the discipline through exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and related activities.

NEBA Activities

Our activities include monthly field trips to special book arts collections in libraries, museums, and galleries which feature book-related shows. Additionally, we sponsor annual members-only exhibitions, give workshops, invite guest speakers, participate in book fairs, and collaborate with institutions in order to exhibit members’ work. We are active from September through May. June-August serve as a hiatus during which behind-the-scenes work – such as website maintenance – will be done. This summer, our top priorities will be to expand our website and to prepare zines for NEBA’s annual Zine Swap.

NEBA & Diversity

Equality and diversity are core values at NEBA. We are fully committed to cultivating, welcoming, and celebrating a culture of inclusion across race, gender, age, religion, and identity.
